Raikes Parade Wesleyan, Blackpool Roll of Honour. Methodist Archive and Research Centre (reference MA 8030 item 67)
Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes, 2018

The war memorial, and a contemporary roll of honour are still displayed at Raikes Parade in Blackpool. The former can be seen here War memorial, and the latter here Roll of Honour.

The first name on the war memorial, George W. Hargreaves, is not on this list. He was apparently in the RAF, and died in Blackpool on 23 September 1919. The Guild Secretary presumably felt that he hadn’t actually died during the war.

The twelve names listed are:

John Barrett

Alfred Coles                            King’s Liverpool Regt.

Arthur M. Cross                     Royal Air Force

Duncan Clarke                       Royal Air Force

Joseph Dewhurst                 Liverpool Irish

Henry Howarth                     Lancashire Fusiliers

Albert Lord

Frank Morris

Joseph Ridings

Ben Riley                                 Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Arthur Sykes                          Liverpool Irish

Harry Sykes                           Liverpool Irish
