In recent times Wootton Bassett was where the war dead returned to this country. Between 1914 and 1918 the Wesleyan chapel lost four men, all buried where they fell.

L/Corp. H.H.S. Street 2736 57th Bn. Australian Imperial Force died 5 March 1918. He was awarded the M.M.

Pte. O.E. Angelinetta 22450 6th Bn. Wiltshire Regt. died 8 July 1916 aged 19

Pte. S.J. Foster 100034 Machine Gun Corps died 4 November 1918 aged 20

Pte. W.T. Harris 19398 7th Bn. Wiltshire Regt. There is no record of this man’s death
