Daventry, Lodge Road, Methodist Chapel was built in recent times to replace the New Street Chapel. It represents a radical new departure in ecclesiastical architecture. After a long period when places of worship were instantly recognisable as such there is nothing about this building except the name to distinguish it from, say, residential apartments or a health centre. It is situated, not as was usual in the past in the town centre or a residential area but on the inner ring road thereby facilitating access by car from a wide area. For another example of the same genre see Duston, St  Andrew’s Methodist Chapel in Northampton
