Memories of Brunswick Methodist Church

My parents were avid attendees of Brunswick Methodist Church in Leeds in the 1920’s, when huge crowds gathered on Sunday evenings to hear Leslie D Weatherhead preach. Before they were married, my mother’s father tried to dissuade his daughter from going to hear Weatherhead preach, as he didn’t approve of his theology. I have a memento of Brunswick, in the form of a wooden plaque which used to hang in the church entrance. It is a poem, beginning with the words : ‘Enter this door as if the floor within were gold….’ If anyone would like this plaque, they would be most welcome.
