St Stephen Methodist Church, St Austell
First world war memorial
St Stephen Methodist Church closed in 2011. It contained a memorial to the fallen of the First World War. Nearby is the Anglican Parish Church with a memorial to the fallen of the Second World War. The Methodist Circuit and the Parish Church decided it was best if the war memorial in the chapel (no longer accessible to the public) was transferred to the Parish Church. This happened in the summer of 2013 and the First World War memorial is now going to be installed above the Second World War memorial in time for the commemoration of the centenary of the First World War.
