The Methodist Who's Who 1912

Although Methodism was divided during the nineteenth century, when the time came to produce a Who’s Who in 1910 the publishers managed to attract interest from all branches of the movement. The second edition, published in 1912 by Charles H. Kelly has a wider coverage, and has two advantages for anyone looking for their Methodist ancestors: it can be linked to the 1911 Census, but more important perhaps, it can viewed online by following this link

Although many of the entries relate to ministers, there are plenty of ‘prominent’ lay people listed. You will find the usual information in a Who’s Who style entry, but with an emphasis on the subjects’ Methodist activities. Most of the entries relate to people in Britain, but there are some entries from the wider Methodist world.
