World War One Memorials

Marlow Methodist Church sits within the riverside town of Marlow. Just a couple of miles along the road to Henley is the village of Medmenham. For many years, this has been an RAF site based next to the Danesfield house hotel. Due to our connection with RAF Medmenham, our church has had a long standing connection with the base, with many of our congregation still being associated and / or employed within the RAF.

During the first world war, our church lost a number of members of the congregation and Sunday school, all of whom are remembered on a memorial mounted on the east wall of the church sanctuary.

As part of the anniversary of the first world war, we are researching the names of those mentioned and we’re looking forward to sharing this on the website shortly.
