Lane End chapel is now closed, but a photograph of the war memorial in the chapel may be found at http://buckinghamshireremembers.org.uk/memorials.htm
The transcriber on that site was unable to find Walter Smith on other village memorials, so assumed a mistake had been made. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, however, confirm the evidence from both Roll of Honour and War Memorial.
